PGE platform

The Environmental Genomics Platform (PGE) is open to all the unit's staff for the provision of materials, equipment and expertise in the field of environmental genomics and proteomics.

PGE is involved in a wide range of projects:

  • Isolation of microorganism DNA/RNA from pure strains or complex environmental matrices (soil, sediment, water)
  • DNA/RNA purification and quantification
  • Functional gene expression analysis
  • Determination of genome size and replicon structure
  • Identification of genome polymorphisms
  • Obtaining and maintaining cloned gene libraries in various cloning vectors

PGE also offers technologies for protein separation using various chromatographic or electrophoretic techniques (1D and 2D PAGE) and protein identification and quantification (Western blot, etc.). The tools needed to build plasmid vectors for protein expression, production and purification are available on the platform.

How to find us:

The activities of the PGE platform are open to members of the unit.
