The team RHIZO focuses on plant root microbiota, and in particular on microorganisms (bacteria and endophytic fungi) capable of stimulating plant growth.

With a focus on PGPR (Plant-Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria) bacteria that stimulate plant growth via phytohormone production, improve plant mineral nutrition (N fixation, P solubilization), or protect plants against disease (antagonism, induced resistance).

These themes have agronomic applications in terms of biocontrol/phytoprotection, phytostimulation and varietal selection.

Model microorganisms: Azospirillum, Pseudomonas, Bacillus, fungal endophytes
Model plants: Wheat, Corn, Rice, Arabidopsis
